Artist Statement

The recurring theme of my art work is the visual interpretation of a cosmic philosophy of universal oneness. I attempt to express that spiritual life force which binds all forms beyond time space and physical limitations; unifying the essence of all religious ideologies.

Having studied comparative religions in graduate school my drawings and clay work are strongly influenced by indigenous cultures and idiomatic symbols. My creative style is categorized as Surrealistic, a format which allows for vast imaginative expression and viewer participation.

My work is reminiscent of traditional African, Eastern and Native American imagery. Our collective philosophy of a holistic universe has Shamanic roots, viewing spiritual guidance as tangible and that all life forms are conscious, emanating from a sacred source. My choice of colors for my art work is intuitive in process and lends greater credence to the Surrealistic categorization but has it’s origins in Eastern Mysticism.

My work, whether creating art, doing a workshop or reading is my adulatory offering, a way of going beyond myself, of connecting, of sharing a vision of the divine love and guiding force that has created all life. I believe that grace lies in the guest of the heart that continually strives for peace and love, not a divisive distinction of religious ideologies.
