My work allows me to transcend boundaries, visually articulating the interpenetration of forms and energy in multi-dimensional planes of existence. Planes where the essence of being, whether plant, animal or human is celebrated equally as an extension of God.
The prints "Angel" and "Going Home" are prime examples of my spiritual philosophy and attempts to make the unseen seen. My use of color is based in chromo therapy, using color in relation to its vibratory and emotional significance. The baby in "Angel" represents all humans in their most loving and nonjudgmental state, not suppressing the value of other life forms for their personal or emotional satisfaction. The child is cradle by spirit. The angel with green hair brings the innocent child gifts of the spirit and an awareness of the connection of all life and a dual universe. The stairs to the window represent the chakras or energy centers in the body. The open window in pink is the crown chakra, open to understanding and expressing love. The thatched wall of limited views and fears roles back and the angel of enlightenment appears. The black and white floor reflects the permanence and impermanence of life choices in thought and achievement.
"Going Home" addresses the process of change and evolution. Here death is seen not as an end to life but a transitional process, relative only to the form of one's existence. The random letters and numbers reflect nonlinear time and communication which is more expansive in intuitive dimensions. The brown woman represents indigenous people past and present who have lived with the spirit of the earth and the life upon it. People who have understood that we are all from spirit taking form, whether plant, animal, insect or human having a physical experience. The woman's black and white hair and the zebra is homage to Yin and Yang. Both images have orbs and light beings depicting spirit. The path or stripes leading upward to the outlined people and the image of the family speaks to responsible evolution and love. In these drawings I attempt to speak to the spirit of our being, our connection to all life and the importance of loving relationships. |
